You can’t run fast or far with only one shoe.

Similarly, you need a strong brand AND strong values to grow your business quickly by focusing resources and communication.

To hit your stride, consider these factors:

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗹. A persuasive origin story* allows people to identify the problem you solve and the value of your solution.

𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆. Show how your business, offerings, and culture demonstrate your values consistently. For instance, a baby clothes retailer with a weak parental leave policy is going to be scrutinized.

𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁. Treat employees as ambassadors of your brand by offering a straightforward explanation of your values and revisit them as needed (e.g. tough times).

𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀. Create target personas which embody and benefit from your core values. Then, screen customers based on your values.

For instance, if you offer a premium product or service, discourage buyers only focused on cost in order to avoid both sides suffering.

𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲. Install a feedback loop to ensure stakeholders are continually aware of your values, brand, and their positive correlation.

You want your company to race ahead, tie up your values and your brand so they work together.
