Mehmet Gonullu meets with our President and Founder, Benjamin Friedman, on The CTO Show to discuss how to think about scaling and growing startups.

Based on his background working with technology founders, leading B2B startups that have tech company clients, and partnering with fractional CTOs, Benjamin shares his insights on the foundation a startup must have before it's time to start thinking of scaling, the common mistakes of leaders, and the characteristics of a successful founder.

He also talks about how to avoid burnout and be resilient, gives an example of a company that did it all right, and shares his thoughts on whether every startup needs funding to grow.

To that last point, a fundraise for the startup journey is compared to a wedding for a marriage (starting at 15:50):

โ€œA wedding is one of many milestones in a relationship,

not the final scene like in the movies.

Similarly, fundraising should not be celebrated as the end,

but the beginning, of something meaningful.โ€
